Students and staff from Sussex University are joining the TUC’s March for the Alternative in London on Saturday 26 March. Sussex Stop the Cuts has set up an online pledge for everyone planning to come to the demonstration. Please sign up and we’ll keep in touch with transport information and updates on the day.
The simple way to stop all the cuts is: for all of this years student intake to not go to university. Instead of being forced to pay ridiculous fees tell the govenment you are going to all sign-on instead all take unemployment and benefits payments out of the system and add countless thousands to the unemployment statistics. Or get a job for the year or if you can afford it travel. If the position changes go to uni in a years time. If absolutely no one goes to university this coming year then they will be empty. If they are empty then this will change the govenments mind. After all what is a years delay before going to university. A years real life experience would probably actually be a benefit.
This blog is written and maintained by a variety of people involved in the Stop the Cuts campaign and posts may not represent the views of everyone involved. All Sussex staff and students are invited to become a part of the campaign and contribute to this blog - just come along to one of our meetings (see 'join the fight' section for next meeting's info). Alternatively you can send us articles to publish anonymously at sussexstopthecuts@gmail.com.
I will be going
I’ll be photographing for the day
